The P.A.C.E. (Personal Advancement & Career Enhancement) program, in partnership with PVH, equips female garment workers with essential life skills to achieve personal and professional success. This initiative is transitioning into the Reimagining Industry to Support Equality (RISE) program, a collaborative endeavour to advance gender equality across global garment, footwear, and home textile supply chains. RISE, spearheaded by BSR’s HER project, CARE International, ILO-IFC Better Work, and Gap Inc., strives to empower women, integrate gender equality into business practices, and catalyze systemic transformation within the industry. It emphasizes enhancing women’s agency, fostering positive gender attitudes, and building skills in health, sexual and reproductive health, and financial literacy.

Before I joined the P.A.C.E. programme, I had no motivation to continue due to some personal issues, I used to come to work and just go home. During this time, I got to participate in the P.A.C.E. program. I learnt a lot about how to better balance my role as a mother while growing in my professional life. I also learnt about how to live in the community that surrounded me. The program helped me to help my son, especially to manage my finances and to make sure my future as well as his future is secure. Because of this programme, I can now manage my home life as a single mother. I don’t fear life, I can communicate well, and I am strong now, unlike before. I used to be shy, but now at work I talk to and help everyone. I started saving because of the program. I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in the program.
