Diridaruwo was launched in 2022 in partnership with Tesco and Berendina with the aim of supporting the children of Hela Employees in Sri Lanka to fulfil their educational aspirations and reach their fullest potential, supporting a bright future.

Thus far, the programme has granted over 800 scholarships to ordinary-level, Advanced Level and Undergraduate level students alongside training sessions on career guidance, skill development, English and IT. The program has also granted Thirty-Four employment opportunities for students.

Project Diridaruwo was launched to empower the educational aspirations of the children of our employees to reach their full potential and discover their future career paths through skill development and guidance.

  • To provide Diridaruwo scholarship for 1000+ children of Hela employees
  • To create programs to unlock the true potential of all Scholarship holders.
  • Encourage and guide students to move towards the right career paths through training sessions
  • To enhance employability of all Diridaruwo Scholarship holders
