Sanath Amaratunga

Sanath is the COO of Hela Clothing's intimate wear business and has over 23 years of apparel industry experience. He is the former Managing Director of Leading Lady Intimates (Licensee for Jones New York Intimates) where he was instrumental in setting up one of Sri Lanka's first seamless operations, Santoni.

    He also served as the Chief Operating Officer at Timex-Wacoal Lingerie, where he set up a bra cup manufacturing facility and digital fabric printing plant. Sanath has been a pioneer in introducing cutting edge technologies to meet the dynamic challenges within the industry, and brings with him global apparel operations experience, having worked in Hong Kong for Must Garments, overseeing their operations in Bahrain and Bangladesh. His drive for continuous improvement together with his proven track record in operational leadership will strengthen Hela Intimates' service offering.

Keith Harding

Director

Keith is the CEO of Hela Intimates and is responsible for the intimate wear business of the Hela group. With over 4 decades of industrial experience, 23 years of which are in the Asian region (including Sri Lanka).

    Keith has been responsible for managing multiple country operations across the region. Having worked for major apparel blue chip companies including Youngone, Warnaco (a subsidiary of the PVH group), Delta Galil and Luen Thai, he brings with him a wealth of operational experience and product knowledge to the Hela Group.

Wasantha Perera

CEO Hela Kenya

Wasantha has over two decades of experience in the apparel industry. He has a Masters in Marketing from University of Wales (UK) and holds a certification in Textile Technology from the University of Moratuwa (Sri Lanka) and CITI (Sri Lanka).

    He has served in key management positions across leading apparel enterprises. These include General Manager of Leisure Textiles, General Manager - Production at Brandix Xpressions and Head of Operations at MAS Holdings (Fabric Cluster) in Sri Lanka, Madagascar, India and Pakistan. Wasantha has experience with working in brands, having worked for GAP's International office in Sri Lanka during the period of 1998-2001.

Kalayana Koththigoda

CFO Hela Africa

Kalyana counts for over 13 years of financial management experience across audit, retail and manufacturing sectors, having worked for Sri Lankan market leaders including Earnest & Young, Browns Group, MAS Holdings and OPEX Holdings.

    His international experience includes working for management consultant firm, AR Consultants in the UK. An associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), Kalyana received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from University of Colombo (Sri Lanka) and a MBA from the University of Wales (UK). Prior to joining Hela Intimates, Kalyana was the CFO of Foundation Garments.

Saman Fernando

Director Manufacturing Hela Alliance

In a career spanning over 20 years within the apparel industry, Saman commenced his career as an Industrial Engineer and swiftly progressed to Industrial Engineering Manager, Production Manager, Plant Manager and General Manager, Manufacturing.

    He holds a Masters in Manufacturing Management from the University of Colombo (Sri Lanka) and has received his Executive Education in Strategic Management and General Management from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Saman also received Lean Manufacturing training at AOTS (Japan) and Autoliv (USA), and holds a Black Belt in Lean Manufacturing Systems. He has further strengthened his manufacturing expertise through Technical Training for Apparel Manufacturing at Demontfort University, UK. Prior to joining Hela Clothing as a Manufacturing Director, he was General Manager of Slimtex, an MAS Intimates manufacturing facility and part of the MAS Holdings group. His knowledge and experience coupled with his unique coaching leadership style has nurtured many successful experts across the apparel industry.

Rajitha Gunawardena

Director Manufacturing

With over 20 years manufacturing experience within the Appeal sector, Rajitha Started his career as an Industrial Engineer and swiftly progressed to Assistant Production Manager, Production Manager, Plant Manager and General Manager, Manufacturing.

    Rajitha was awarded the ‘Certification in Clothing Manufacture’ from CITI, Sri Lanka and pursued his executive education in Japan and also at the National University of Singapore. He has also participated in the Doug Adams Leadership program and the Insead Fast Track programme as well. He has also successfully completed training in Manufacturing at Marks & Spencer in UK & Ireland. Rajitha also received Lean Manufacturing training at AOTS (Japan) and holds a Green Belt in Lean Manufacturing Systems. Prior to joining Hela Clothing as a Manufacturing Director, he was the General Manager of Thurulie, an MAS Intimates manufacturing facility and part of the MAS Holdings group. Rajitha has worked in several Oversees MAS Intimates manufacturing facilities including India, male and Bangladesh. His knowledge and experience coupled with his unique leadership style has nurtured many successful experts across the apparel industry. Rajitha is also an active sportsman having captained the senior volleyball team at Nalanda College, Colombo and played rugby for the college.

Kaushala Duminda

Kaushala has been in manufacturing for over 30 years and started his career in textile manufacturing, he has been involved in Finance, Operations, Business Process and General Management.

    Kaushala Worked as an ERP Consultant in the field of Apparel and Footwear in over 10 countries, including USA, Italy, UK, South Africa, Hong Kong, China and Japan in setting up business processes, manufacturing excellence and product distribution solutions. He took part in a leading role in building a team of professionals in ERP consulting to foam Attune Consulting Company (The leading SAP-AFS Consulting body in the world). Also, he was responsible to set up the first Bra molding plant in the island, with end-to-end customer solutions with product development and molded foam cup manufacturing. As the Founding Managing Director of Sintesi, he was responsible in setting up a total vertical lingerie company in Sri Lanka for the first time in South East Asia with Product Development, Research and Innovation, Molding, Bonding and Bra manufacturing. Kaushala’s key role has been to lead and guide a team of motivated professionals in the field of manufacturing while achieving corporate targets in strategic growth, profitability and sustainability in setting up and managing complexed business processes. Educated at Royal College, Kaushala is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), and holds an MBA in the field of Marketing from Temple University, Philadelphia, USA. He is also a Certified SAP AFS Consultant.
