Dian Gomes

Chairman

A catalyst of the Sri Lankan apparel industry, Dian is a former Group Director of MAS Holdings (USD 1.7 billion Apparel Enterprise) and the former Managing Director/CEO of its largest business division, MAS Intimates.

    Educated at Royal College, a former Sri Lanka Junior Flyweight Boxing Champion, his passion for sport is evident through the varied positions he continues to hold over a span of 15 years; including President of the Amateur Boxing Association of Sri Lanka from 2004-2009, President of the National Association of Fencing Sri Lanka and Vice President of both the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (current).

Investor, entrepreneur and finance industry veteran, Robert is the Chairman of several public companies and partnerships in the UK, including apparel investment firm, Ellestone Apparel LLP, the holding company which is the controlling shareholder of Hela.

    Robert was an Ambassador for UK Business for the Prime Minister, David Cameron in 2011 and sat on the Mayor of London's Panel of Economic Advisers. He was a member of the Senior Practitioner Committee of the Financial Services Authority, the FSA's nominated representative on the Market Consultative Panel of the Council of European Securities Regulators. Additionally, he was a member of the Chancellor's "wise men" group that represented key financial stakeholders in London, was a member of the Chairman's Committee of the London Investment Banking Association, a member of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers and on the EU Advisory Panel of the London Corporation.

Tom Singh

Tom is a leading entrepreneur and active private investor, with family interests extending across retail, real estate, technology and renewable energy sectors.

    Tom holds a Bachelor's Degree in Geography & International Politics from Aberystwyth University in Wales, and is an Advisor at Zouk Capital LLP. He is the Founder and Member of the Advisory Board at Magenta Partners, the Chairman of TIE in the United Kingdom and also serves as a Director of 3i Group PLC; and Non-Executive Director of mO3 Power Limited. Tom was awarded an OBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the New Year's Honours List in 2006. He is a founder member of the Social Investment Task Force, the Chairman of the UK Advisory Council for the British Asian Trust and the principal of Rianta Philanthropy, an India-focused impact-investing fund that operates the Artha Platform investor network

Dominic McVey

Director

Dominic is a London-based leading entrepreneur who started his first business at the age of 15. His entrepreneurial successes earned him the title of "Britain's youngest, self-made millionaire'.

    By the age of 18 he was appointed by Her Majesty, the Queen as "A Pioneer for Britain in Entrepreneurship". In 2009, he was named Britain's second most influential business person under the age of 30 in the "Top 30 power players under 30" listed by "The Sunday Times". Dominic runs a diversified portfolio of business interests and is a founding and managing partner of investment firm Ellestone Apparel LLP, the holding company which is the controlling shareholder of Hela. Dominic has worked as an advisor on entrepreneurship to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment of the Irish Government as well as the DTI and DFES in the United Kingdom. He has consulted for a wide group of institutions and multi national organisations and proudly served two terms as an independent trustee for the Royal Chartered Landscape Institute.

Harsha Guneratne

Director HR, IT & Compliance

Harsha has held senior roles in Plant Management, Lean Manufacturing, Project Management and Finance. Harsha was heading manufacturing sites and projects for renowned confectionery giant Cadbury PLC, in Australia.

    Harsha has also consulted for Schweppes Ltd and managed financial analysis for Carlton United Breweries and Unisys, prior to returning to Sri Lanka to take up the role of Managing Director at Hela Clothing. A Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Harsha holds an undergraduate and a Master's Degree in Accounting/Management Accounting from the University of Monash in Melbourne. Having obtained a certification in Textile Manufacturing from the University of North Carolina (USA), he is further certified in Agile Project Management and Lean Manufacturing. He is also a member of the Association of Manufacturing Excellence (AME), Melbourne, Australia. Harsha's experience with high performance teams extends beyond the boardroom. Having represented Sri Lankan School and Club rugby at the highest levels at Isipathana College, CR&FC and CH&FC, he has also lead a number of community service projects including, mentoring underprivileged youth toward community leadership.

Dilanka Jinadasa

Group CEO/Director

Dilanka is credited with transforming Foundation Garments into one Sri Lanka's most progressive apparel organizations. He was responsible for developing strategic customer relationships with some of the world's largest brand houses, including the PVH Group as well as driving operational performance across the group, propelling it to a USD 50 Mn business over a short period of time.

    A graduate of the University of Nottingham with an Honours Degree in Industrial Economics, Dilanka has worked with both start-ups as well as Fortune 500 companies, including Zurich Insurance & Financial Services, in North America. Dilanka was appointed a member of the Sri Lanka Apparel Association's "Future Leaders" committee, tasked with the responsibility of steering the country's apparel industry towards its export target for 2020. He has also founded businesses, mainly in the renewable energy sector, with a portfolio of projects in Sri Lanka and has served as an advisor to companies in the logistics sector, playing a pivotal role in growing the automotive logistics segment in Sri Lanka. Appointed to the board of Hela Clothing, Dilanka gives leadership to the group's intimate wear business as the Managing Director of Hela Intimates.

A. R. Rasiah

    Rasa is a visiting Lecturer in Finance at the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), Sri Lanka and serves on the boards of Ceylon Cold Stores, Nations Trust Bank, MTD Walkers and the EB Creasy Group of Companies.

Aroshi Perera

Non Executive Director

Former Chief Risk Officer for the Brandix Group and Chief Executive Officer of Brandix Hangers, Aroshi holds a Bachelors degree in Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Masters in Management from the London School of Economics (LSE).

    She is well versed in organizational risk management, HR Policy and health & safety best practices, within the apparel sector. Aroshi is also an educator, functioning as a corporate trainer in Corporate Strategy and Risk Management. She is a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors and the Institute of Personnel Management, Sri Lanka. Aroshi was also appointed as Rotary Ambassador - District 3220, and has held several other club level positions including Club Secretary and Director International Services.

Nipuna Dias

Group Manufacturing Director

With over 25 years of industry expertise, operations and manufacturing experience in apparel, Nipuna is the former Manufacturing Director of MAS Holdings' largest business division, MAS Intimates.

    Nipuna holds Diplomas in Clothing Manufacturing at CITI (Sri Lanka) and in Telecommunication Engineering, from City and Guilds (UK). He received his Executive Education in High Potentials Leadership Program at Harvard Business School (USA), in Lean Manufacturing at Kellogg School of Management (USA), and in General Management at the National University of Singapore (NUS - Singapore). He has followed select leadership training programmes and executive coaching conducted by leadership guru, Doug Adams; and has visited some of the world's leading manufacturing organizations on lean manufacturing with study tours including, Toyota Japan, Dell & Autoliv. Nipuna has worked closely with world-renowned brands including Victoria's Secrets, Marks & Spencer, Nike, Calvin Klein and Lulu Lemon. He is also a keen sportsman who represented his alma mater in Athletics, Rugby and Cricket. He was instrumental in initiating the standardization of Lean Management at MAS Intimates Division.

Ananda Weerakoon

Ananda's contribution to the Sri Lankan apparel sector extends over 35 years. An apparel industry veteran, he is the former Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director - Knit Cluster, of the Hirdaramani Group, a conglomerate employing over 60,000 people across 38 production facilities in Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Bangladesh.

    With end-to-end expertise across sustainable apparel manufacturing, sales, marketing and supply chain management, Ananda holds a National Diploma in Textile Technology from the University of Moratuwa (Sri Lanka). Possessing a strong reputation for developing strategic customer relationships and key account management, over the past two decades he has been instrumental driving business growth with leading retail brands in the USA and Europe.

Shameen Peiris

Director Finance

Shameen Peiris held the position of Chief Operating Officer - Hela Casual and was managing Finance, Planning, Commercial and Central Warehouse. Shameen was instrumental in centralizing the Commercial Division of the Hela Group and setting up the Operational Finance Unit in Hela Casual during his short tenure as COO.

    Prior to joining Hela Clothing, Shameen worked Business Analyst whilst studying at University. He then joined MAS Slimline in 2003 as an Assistant Accountant where he later became a pioneer member of the SAP Control Team and was subsequently drafted into the Business Control Team. He was moved up the ranks to Group Management Accountant, and was then made the Finance Manager of the Operational Finance Unit from 2009 – 2011. Continuing with MAS, 2011 till 2014 saw him working as the General Manager - Finance for the Shared Service Center where he was primarily involved in Treasury Activities. Shameen who was recognized for his skills in his chosen area of work, was promoted as General Manager – Commercial and Logistics in 2015, where he was entrusted with the immense responsibility of negotiating rates for trade lanes for the entire MAS Intimates cluster including Bodyline at the Central BID. Subsequent to these achievements, Shameen held the position of Director - Planning, where he is responsible for driving the business strategy. He possesses a well-rounded background which is underpinned by a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the University of Colombo, and a Bachelor of Science (Special) Degree from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK (CIMA), the Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers UK (ICS) and is also a Certified Solution Consultant for SAP FI Accounting from SAP AG Knowledge Productization Services of Germany. Educational proficiencies aside, Shameen has had opportunity to receive training at the Leadership Edge Program conducted by Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania USA, the MAS Intimates Leadership Program conducted by Doug Adams – Harvard Guru, and the Leadership Development Program conducted by the National University of Singapore.
